Gnostic Plot (Science Fiction)

A plot that is intended to reveal “deeper truths” then are hinted at while the plot is being developed. These can be truths that the characters learn or are revealed primarily to the viewer. For example, a plot may play on the idea of estrangement of two or more characters only to make the point that “it is possible for any two people to love each other”.
